Finding the Right Assessment for You

Brain Sprout Clinic provides assessments exploring cognitive skills, thinking and learning, speech and language, memory and attention, social interaction styles, developmental progress, and behavioural concerns. Mental health, wellbeing, and day‑to‑day functioning are also important parts of our assessments.

Autism Assessment

An autism assessment helps develop a deeper understanding of how a person experiences, communicates, connects with others, and navigates everyday life. We consider their developmental experiences, sensory preferences, interests, relationships, and ways of participating across different environments. Information is gathered through conversations, questionnaires, observation, assessment activities, and the perspectives of relevant people to identify strengths, support needs, and helpful next steps.

Adult: $1875 | Child: $2320
ADHD Assessment

An ADHD assessment considers how a person directs and shifts their attention, manages impulses, regulates emotions, organises tasks, and responds to the demands of everyday life. We look at how these experiences have developed over time and how they may differ across home, school, work, relationships, and the community. The findings are used to build a clearer picture of the person’s strengths, difficulties, and support needs.

Adult: $1625 | Child: $1625
Combined Autism and ADHD Assessment

A combined assessment considers autism and ADHD together, recognising that their characteristics can overlap and influence one another. We explore communication, relationships, attention, organisation, sensory experiences, emotional regulation, interests, and everyday functioning. Bringing this information together can help explain the person’s experiences more fully and guide recommendations that reflect their individual profile.

Adult: $2500 | Child: $2945
Intellectual Disability (Cognitive) Assessment

An intellectual disability assessment considers both thinking and reasoning abilities and the skills a person uses in everyday life. This includes areas such as learning, problem solving, communication, independence, and managing daily activities. The findings are considered in the context of the person’s development and circumstances to identify their abilities, support needs, and whether diagnostic criteria for intellectual disability are met.

Adult: $1500 | Child: $1500
Gifted Assessment

A gifted assessment provides information about how a person thinks, reasons, remembers, and approaches unfamiliar problems. It can identify areas of advanced cognitive ability as well as differences across aspects of their learning profile. The findings can help families, individuals, and educators make informed decisions about extension, learning opportunities, and appropriate support.

Adult: $1500 | Child: $1500
Developmental Assessment (ages 0-6)

A developmental assessment provides a broad picture of a young child’s current development. Depending on the questions being explored, it may consider communication, movement, thinking, learning, play, relationships, and everyday independence. The findings help identify areas of progress, abilities that are emerging, and areas where additional support may be beneficial.

Child: $1500
Psychoeducational Assessment

A psychoeducational assessment helps explain how a person’s thinking and learning abilities relate to their progress in reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, and oral language. We consider assessment results together with their educational experiences and other relevant information. This can identify patterns of strength and difficulty, clarify barriers to learning, and determine whether criteria for a specific learning disorder, including dyslexia, are met.

Adult: $1875 | Child: $1875
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Assessment

A Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder assessment develops a detailed understanding of how prenatal alcohol exposure may have influenced a person’s development. The multidisciplinary process considers health, development, thinking, learning, communication, attention, emotional regulation, and daily living skills. The findings are used to determine whether diagnostic criteria are met and to develop recommendations suited to the person.

Adult: $3010 | Child: $3010
Speech and Language Assessment

A speech and language assessment (led by a speech pathologist) helps develop a clearer understanding of a person's language and communication skills in everyday life. The assessment may explore receptive and expressive language, speech, social communication and functional communication skills. This can identify patterns of strength and difficulty, clarify communication support needs, and provide recommendations.

A Speech and Language Assessment can be combined with any of our psychologist led assessments.
