Our Approach
Evidence Based and Grounded in Lived Experience

At Brain Sprout Clinic, we take a neuroaffirming approach that values lived experience and recognises each individual’s expertise in their own life. We combine this with evidence-based assessment, recognising that no single test or questionnaire can tell the full story.
Throughout the assessment process, we create opportunities for people to share their perspectives, describe their experiences, and communicate what matters to them. We understand that people communicate and participate in different ways. Our assessments are flexible and responsive to individual needs, including sensory, communication, and emotional considerations.
We understand that assessment findings can shape future choices, access to support, and a person’s understanding of themselves. We approach this process with care and respect, providing clear and meaningful guidance about what may come next.
Formal frameworks without losing the person
While we value authenticity and diversity, we also understand the systems individuals must navigate. As such, we aim to maintain a neuroaffirming approach while working within deficit‑based frameworks such as the NDIS and medical models, ensuring our reports meet formal requirements without compromising person-centred practice.
Whether this is your first time engaging in support or you are seeking a streamlined process to meet specific service requirements, our team is here to guide you through what can often feel like an overwhelming process.
Our Team
Understanding the Whole Person Together
Brain Sprout Clinic is a collaborative multidisciplinary practice comprising psychology, speech pathology, and social work. Each discipline contributes a unique perspective to understanding development, communication, behaviour, learning, relationships, and everyday functioning. By working together, we develop a more complete understanding of each individual and provide recommendations that are practical, meaningful, and tailored to their circumstances.
